Cheap + lightweight + don't look like ****

Rims? Do they exist?

[ion] C2 05-11-2008 09:13 PM

I don't believe so.

Mischief007 05-11-2008 09:15 PM

How much are you willing to pay? How light do you want to go?

I'm sure you could get blanked rims and then have someone drill the bolt pattern for the Alero. Again, it comes down to how much you want to spend.

Motegi Traklite lightweight wheels would be the way to go, but they're $250-350 per wheel.

BlackJack 05-12-2008 01:29 AM

try Billet Specialties "Street Lite".

not exactly cheap, though they're far from the most expensive
.

Sure am. You probably had a good 800 lbs on your way back from Lansing with all those quarters I gave you, so you know how it feels. :)

kwhauck 05-12-2008 03:10 PM

yeah depends on your definition of cheap, the motegis are nice but pretty sure they didn't have a fitment at the time that I liked......

i picked these up through tire rack for like $750 for all 4 shipped to my house if I remember correctly, they are a 17x8 and are pretty light at 15.9lbs a piece...

super white alero1 05-12-2008 04:41 PM

Buddy Racing. P2 series.

Not exactly cheap.

Scratch that. Unless you going pro. don't get these. They don't even make them unless there a GB of 10 or more. Last GB was a group out of FL on WRXs.

linky

I guess my 18 lbs a piece rims are considered heavy now :rolleyes2:

I do like all the rims posted in this thread. Look pretty good for lightweight :D

Spilner521 05-12-2008 10:41 PM

5Zigen FN01R-C's...these are what I'm getting

bluesmobile00 05-12-2008 10:55 PM

i have the enkei or52 i dont have a pic of just the wheel but you can see them on my profile. the only thing about them is the center peice is a circle and you can see straight through

kwhauck 05-13-2008 02:12 PM

spilner i love those rims and really looked at them but they just didn't have a fitment i liked and they were pretty spendy at the time, what are they at right now?

maybe weight isnt the requirement your rims are missing for him.

Redog 05-13-2008 03:02 PM

^^ Well, you're the first to say something bad about my rims :rolleyes2:

Maybe it's just you ;)

I just looked...They used to be $220 a piece for 18's at 17.5lbs a piece. Now 5Zigen came out with an "updated" design for them, even though they're pretty close to identical, and they're $280 for 18x7.5 or $340 for 18x8.5. I was looking at maybe getting them in 18x8.5 with 255/35-18 tires, but now that the prices went up, I may just get the 18x7.5, stick with 225/40-18's and get some good sticky tires.

cherrington17 05-13-2008 05:29 PM

spilner, i'm gonna have to check out your car with those on it... i really like the looks of em.

if i ever did update my wheels, i know i'd go gunmetal color and that kinda style... just haven't seen that kind actually on a car.

Spilner521 05-13-2008 05:46 PM

I'm going to get them in silver, have them powdercoated gunmetal and keeping the polished silver lip.

Redog 05-13-2008 08:42 PM

^^ Now that sounds HOT!!!

I was kicking around redoing my rims with a powercoat of gunmetal, but the center cap won't match :(

Cliff8928 05-14-2008 02:53 AM

I have no idea on the weight of them, but here's a link to someone selling a set of Work Esperio 02R (or RH evo C6, same thing) in 19x8.5 (basically, the OSV wheel) for $600 in NY.
