Mine is a 2000 silver 2 door with pwr everything moonroof and foglights seats only rise with power and u have to manually lift the bar under and slide it to the postion you want , but i refused the leather seats. has 2 tone interior. My other alero is all the same but its a white 4 dr and has leather seats but all the emblems on it are gold color . and the seat is power up and down and foward and back . any ideas on the series? the books dont say |
if your talkin about like opitions and stuff make engine size and all that good stuff
all by the vin number  |
I mean like if is a gl or gls . They are both 3.4 'S
|
First sounds like a GL, second sounds like a GLS.
|
generally, the GLS's come with 16" wheels and leather. Options include sunroof and gold package.
The rest of them, it is pretty diffiuclt to tell. Its best to look at the original paperwork to figure it out. |
If it helps, mine is a GL and it is a 2003, 2dr, rear disk, 3.4L, no sunroof, pwr everything, cloth interior, 15" wheels....
|
daaaamn. After reading what Naich wrote, I'm thinking I just have a GL, not a GLS like I thought. ( 2 door 2000 with the 3.4 and power everything, "Sun and Sounds" package, but no leather, and 15" wheels <_<

it says in the VIN number, at the dealership he showed me in a NADA book, but i dont remember now, it was a few years ago.
|
i have a black 2dr, leather, pwr everything, sunroof............... so would mine be a gls?
|
i'd say yes if you have 16" wheels and 4 wheel disc brakes along with everything else.

VIN - Vehicle Identification Number The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is composed of 17 characters. The standard was originally defined in ISO Standard 3779 in February of 1977. Then it was revised in 1983. The ISO VIN is designed to identify motor vehicles of all kinds: cars, trucks, busses, motorcycles etc. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) contains three major sections: WMI - World Manufacturer Identifier (1,2,3 characters in VIN structure) If the manufacturer builds less than 500 vehicles per year than the third digit is "9". The WMI is described in detail in ISO 3780. VDS - Vehicle Description Section. It contains 6 characters (4th to 9th positions in VIN) and defines vehicle attributes specified by manufacturer. VIS - Vehicle Identifier Section. The last 8 characters of VIN define Year, manufacturer plant and serial (sequential) number of the vehicle. The last four characters shall be numeric. The 10th position of the Vehicle Identification Number is a year code. hope this helps  vinpower |
