muffler confused
i just want to put on a new muffler that sounds good with min. drone. i also don't want to lose low end torque. i going to stick with 2.25" for the pipping. I have the V6.
i was looking at the borla turbo muffler because its not too loud. Duals would be nice but not a big concern. what should i do .....no rice sound |
go with 2.5", going with 2.25" is a waste.....
|
why I'm going to be doing much to it, i don't want to loss low end torque either
|
You will not lose any low end torque. We're talking about a quarter of an inch here. 2.25" piping will still choke a 3.4L V6, and I agree is a waste. You'll gain more low end torque and mid-top end power with larger piping and I would go with at least 2.5". You don't have to do anything else to the car ever again, but that doesn't mean you can't get a good exhaust right from the beginning.

IMO Turbo mufflers lose thier sound over time and start to sound ricy on the Alero.
I had the SLP muffler on mine and after a few years it just started to sound ricy. The dual 44's I have on the car now do get slightly raspy around 3500 and more so @ 4000, but by 6000 the sound isn't too bad. I have a video on YouTube and listed what RPM's the car is at in every frame ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n5QqNYpxS4 |
