RAP and Lock Switch Issues
 

Hey everyone. Pretty recently, my car has started to have issues with the RAP. Sometimes, I will open the doors, and the HU wont shut off. After a while, it will shut off by itself. Also, you know how when you press the lock switch, it gives you like 7 seconds, beeps twice, then locks all the doors. Well, sometimes, mine will do that. But sometimes it wont, and itll just lock the doors as it would without that feature. Anyone know what it could be? I am guessing its a short? This started before my new HU installation, so I doubt its the HU.

Does your dome light turn on when you open the door?

I had a similar problem with my cavalier that i had... it turned out, it was a short in the door switch, sometimes it would work properly, other times it would not work... it was messed... i would be driving down the road, and all of a sudden, my interior lights would come on, then go off, or stay on... other times my door locks would just start popping.... lock/unlock/lock... and the same with the radio... when i turned the car off, sometimes it would shut off, others it would kill my battery... i finally had the dealership fix it under my extended warranty...

That sounds bad. Mine isnt that bad though, its just when I turn the car off. I am starting to think its the door switch though. Where exactly is the door switch?

In the front it's the whole "door lock" (latch) assembly. The rear has a pin switch.

Well, last night it happened again. Hasn't happeded again since. I got to check the dome light, and no, it didnt turn on. When it did turn on, everything worked how it should. Guess this means its the switch?
