You need to use two 13mm wrenches, one on each bolt. Can't really do anything about the wire twisting with the bolt, just have to find a way to get it to work.

If you can get a pair of pliers SAFELY onto the bolt closest to the alt then it should do the same thing, or two pairs of pliers... Improvise man just don't break anything.

When I did this it was so cramped and close in there I didn't even attempt to take the bolt right out. Instead I clipped off the end of my ring terminal, and made it a spade. Loosen the bolt, slip it in and tighten.

Try putting a 1/2" Open end wrench on the alternator side and a 13mm socket on the nut.
13mm= .511", .5" = 12.7mm- and wrenches are always a bit over. Should work :) |

Is the alternator fused? Or is the new wire directly connected from battery + to alt? |
