radio question
i just have a quick question that ive been meaning to ask, did the later model years of our cars have a radio/stereo system that stayed on even after the car has been turned off? i know other newer gm vehicles did, but i was just wondering if that was present on the alero in the later models. thanks.

Mine is a 2002 and did that. After turning the car off and removing the key from the ignition, the stock radio would stay on until I opened the door, or until about 10-15 minutes passed. I honestly miss that feature with my aftermarket radio because it shuts off when the key turns to "OFF" position.

yeah it stays on for 10 min or until the car door is opened
That started in 2001 I think ;)
Most GM vehicles have had the 10 minute interior delay since the 90's
damn, it must have been in 01 when they changed stuff slightly, cuz mine is a 00 and it doesnt have it. does anyone know if its in the radio itself, and if i swapped in a later year radio i would have that function? thanks
Not sure, because its the BCM that makes that determination
guess i can live without it. it is a nice feature tho.

The radio in the 99-00 was not BCM controlled.. |

That answers his question then. |
I have a 00 and wished I had that....I don't like putting mine in ACC cause the oil light comes on and the battery light....whats up with that?
