Help Please

ok at 60000, had tranmission flushed, sevriced and new filter

have drove 900 miles since then

This includes my trip to buy rims from Bradley yesterday and today

The car has drove like a dream.

Today I got home from the trip and installed my new Cosmo Intake.

I drove about 8 miles to town to meed the GF, very happy with the new intake.

Right b4 i got there i felt a large jolt in the car/motor, and the trac off light came on. This was at a red light. Then as the car accelerated i felt teh large jolt each time. Service Engine Soon came on next to the Trac Off light. When the car is put in any gear other then park or nuetral i get the large jerk, and when ever it shifts

Personally I am wondering if its a mount. But i broke one already but that took a unseen speedbump to do and i felt the car vibrating. I dont remember if any lights came on either when that happened so maybe I'm wrong.

Please Help, budget got spent.

PS. had strut apart too, now theres a loud groaning when i turn the wheel, i didnt put it back together, but i put it back on. I was able to turn teh botton part to the position i needed after the strut was bolted in. Tried tightening the big nut in the strut tower, seems as tight as it gets, looks like the spring is turnign on teh bottom of the strut and making the noise.

check the iat (intake air temp) sensor. a damaged one can cause the very hard shifts. thats about all i can think it is. the rest of the stuff you posted, im too tired to answer.

it's the iat..

Bad99Olds 04-14-2009 11:13 PM

yep, im gonna agree. its your iat for sure.

ok its not the big blue one headed to motor, wich one of the two is that ill go f with it now!

AleroDrime 04-14-2009 11:24 PM

btw pic of the broke mount is in the car album on myspace, i wish i hadnt been speeding, pretty sure i could sue the appartment place for having a black speed bump with no sign

you'll find a way to make it all better, you always do = )

AleroDrime 04-14-2009 11:46 PM

bump, wich is it

AleroDrime 04-15-2009 10:04 AM

you guys rock, you fixed teh jerk and trac off

anythoughts on the service engine soon light or will that go out on its own

and the strut deal

Tomahwk 04-15-2009 04:03 PM

The service engine light will go off on its own. At least mine did.

since this is a thread about the iat sensor, i figured ill post my question here rather than start a new thread. a while ago when i installed my intake, i guess the wire for the sensor was a bit too short to make it to the fitting its supposed to fit into. anyway i had to lengthen it with some more wire. now would this be something i have to solder, or would butt connectors or something similar be ok? thats what is holding the wire together right now, and every so often i get the hard shifts and whatnot. just wanted to see if the connectors i used was a possible cause. thanks for letting me jack the thread.

I would solder it and put some heat shrink wrap on it.
