Hose covers

Hey everyone. Is this is something worth getting and it would fit properly? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku I kind of want to start dressing the engine bay a little.

If you want. SS will add some weight without the functionality of real braided lines.

Me, I'm getting this type of sleeving:

I dont see why not looks like an easy way to spruce up your engine bay

Dayum, that is one nice looking engine bay. Is the one you want hose, or is it sleeving too?

Sleeving, nylon. Lightweight, looks good.

PappaSmurf 04-27-2009 02:05 AM

Ion,
If your engine bay is going to look that good, I just might have to come to MI, just to hump your tailpipe. LOL (not really)!
Looks damn good though.

Sure, it's worth it if you want to spruce up the engine bay.

ion: That car can't be driven and look that good lmao.

His engine probably will look that that good with everything all cleaned up, just without that supercharger in there...

No, these kits are a PIA. Wait and save your money and get something like this:

This is going in my car next week, only the upper hose:

Get a good quality braided hose if you what to play dress up. You'll be a lot happier. I had one of these wrap kits and never got around to installing it. My bro-in-law tried it on his Mustang and it looked like shit. When you spread the hose covers, the braids open up way too much and the hose is pretty much see thru

Nate's Alero 04-27-2009 02:46 PM

what kind of hose is that

[ion] C2 04-27-2009 03:00 PM

a gross one

Braided nylon or braided steel or aluminum ftw, everything else just looks like cheapo wire loom.

And we don't have straight plugins why? Cuz most of us would like braided steel lines

[ion] C2 04-27-2009 04:11 PM

What? You can do whatever you want. Go ahead and put braided stainless steel lines in, you just need to use AN fittings.

Ghadsphi 04-27-2009 04:29 PM

Yeah I was born lazy. It sucks. Hopped up I got 3 hours in me every 2 days. And in all honesty I know nothing about california laws except on intakes, and struts/springs... BTW god hates me, my springs have arrived, my struts have shipped, but my spring compressors are on back order.

[ion] C2 04-27-2009 04:43 PM

Fug it you can rent them for free at AutoZone (as in you pay a small fee upfront and then if/when you return them you get your money back)
