i dun have enouf money to get my Alero lowered yet.. (soon i will).. found a nice set of 17" for good price and was wondering will it look werid without the car lowred?

I've been rolling on 17's in the 4x4 Alero for a year now. I don't think it looks too weird. Bigger than 17's it's more noticeable, but I still don't think it looks bad. I don't think I could get to work if I lowered my car. Damn Detroit roads.

No it shouldn't be any different size wise if you plus size the tires properly
225/50/16 = 225/45/17 |
it best not look weird, I'm blasting this weeks paycheck on a set of 17" Enkies on Monday...

post some pics when done

it'll still exaggerate the wheel gap that most gm cars have way too much of. No matter what, less sidewall makes the wheel gap more noticeable. 225/45/17 won't look horrible with stock suspension, but it will look much better after a drop imo. Whatever you do, don't get rubber band tires that come with many wheel/tire packages. that 205/30/17 stuff they usually give you looks awful.

I don't think 17's look bad with stock suspension. I just had mine put on today and haven't lowered it yet. The wheel gap isn't all that noticeable either. Hopefully, if time is on my side, I'll get that done in the next week or maybe even this weekend.
