Pods?

I'm just layed my first every coat of bondo on these... good lord i get to sand the bejesus outta them (not as bad as grim's doors though)

my question is, when you bondo over fiberglass (for door pods) multiple layers isn't necessary, unless you want to fill some area that isn't quite level?

if i did it right the first time, then i need to sand, and i should be done? (except for covering them again)

and should i cover the back of them, or just leave that as glass? No-one would ever see it anyway.

Only bondo the areas thats visible when mounted.

I use a 1/4 sheet orbital sander with 60 grit. Makes it an easy task for about 90% of it.

Now i'm off to get me some dark gray vinyl. Hopefully i'll have these beasts sanded and covered tonight.

Just beware most vinyl bought in fabric stores wont work to well. Its not stretchable enough or giving.

I get mine from Select Products when I have anything complex. Flat surfaces or simply covering a sub box, fine that stuff works...

I guess it could work. A hair dryer may help form it/stretch it a bit ;)

i got some decent stuff. that was the first thing i checked, to see how much it stretches. :thumb:

downside.. its SLIGHTLY lighter gray then the pewter in the car, but its only noticible right next to it. Considering its down near the floor... it'll be fine.

now i gotta figure out how the eff i'm gonna get it on the pod, and make it look decent.
