Some cosmetic work/ cleaning!
well, this is gonna be a multi-use thread.
in a nut shell, i lost my job so the idea of a new car is out the window and I need to make the Alero last awhile. So today I: detailed the interior the best I have in awhile (pics tomorrow!) washed the outside and got the multi-layer of bugs off the front bumper oiled all the hinges reset the computer to see if the tranny would start working a little better Other Stuff: My friend just bought a 2002 Alero GL with an ecotec. anyhow, i noticed her car has plastic wheel well inserts on the back wheel wells. my car is missing these (or never came equipped because its a 2000) and I would like to locate some. It makes the wheel wells look much more complete and also would help protect my wheel wells from being more attacked by rust from stone chips. anybody have a picture of these or know if any are for sale? |
Don't know about the wheel wells, mine didn't have them in the back either and it was a 2002 GL with ecotec. But as for 'oiling' the hinges, you're supposed to use grease, preferably white lithium grease.

The best way to make a car last a LONG time is to take care of your fluids. Keep up on your oil, trans fluid, antifreeze, coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and oil and fuel filters if you can. If you start on these early and stay on them, it's very probable that you're car will take you to 250k+ miles easy. |
so nobody knows about these wheel well plastic things? i think i'll take a picture next time i see the car. maybe i was :drunk: or something when she was driving me around...
