Hey gang, what year or specific models came with the gold emblems? Also, were all of the exterior emblems on these cars gold or just the Oldsmobile insignia that's on the hood? Just wondering......

my 99 gls had gold emblems.. and on the lug covers.... ugly imo.... i got rid of my emblems and shaved the front bumper

I've got an '01 GLS and it came with gold everything. I think it looks good with the black, nice little contrast but that's just me.

Yeah, mine is red, and I think it will look MUCH better once I find a set of gold emblems to put on it!

I'm also thinking of changing out the skins for the dashboard gauges, because the color scheme just doesn't match the rest of the car. I think I want to switch it out for a blackface with white letters/numbers that light up green, and switching out the lights for the gauge needles from white to red. Not sure yet, but will keep everybody updated as things progress, because before I can start on the cosmetic stuff, I have to get the LIM gasket/water pump leaks taken care of!

There was a couple different ways you could get them that I'm aware of, and it depended on the model and year. One was the gold package, which was just gold trim, and the other was the special edition package, which included the gold trim, and stuff like chrome rims, leather seats, etc.

or the GL4 which was this Limited Edition 2.4

I still think it was optional...

And you couldn't get the gold package with every color either.

I have the full package on my 2000 V6. Gold emblems/trim, leather, power everything, etc.

Personally I like it, especially on black cars. I'm actually considering getting black rims with a gold lip, like this.

I agree, and dude...those rims would look SICK!! I want them now because I have a black alero as well, lol.

Mine came with them too. 2000 gls coupe. I like them. :D

You can order gold emblems straight from the dealer. Just go ask the parts guy. All emblems on the car would have been gold. Was an option direct from GM.
