Well, here is my RSS thread,

will be updated as i make progress into making my set of projectors, and eventually selling sets to aleromodders. this will be the thread to which breakthrough and problems/bugs have occured, and when they were fixed.

September 3rd - Got the light all assembled, and now im waiting for the silicone to dry

September 4th - The light is LIT!!! WHOHOO!!

September 4th, Mid Afternoon - The light ran into some issues, the bulb melted the housing , got another trick up my sleeve though!

Look into some projectors off eBay BMW Audi and so forth.
No offense but that cut off looks like ass

Nate's Alero 09-04-2009 11:41 PM

Ah, the cutoff, well the projector was originally intended for a bulb to go into the chamber vertically, but i chopped it up and slid it in horizontally, and it SEEMED to work, until the housing melted

got another trick up my sleeve though, gonna see more progress made tommrow :)

do projectors enhance the light or anything... or are they mostly for looks

clutch1 09-05-2009 02:38 AM

They change the light pattern that comes out... much better suited for a brighter bulb, like and HID. Reflector housings scatter the light more, but with a halogen bulb that's ok.

yea those bmw projectors will probably work better than chopped up fog light housings

ah, being on a budget sucked,

BUT

getting four E3 housings for 100$.....sweetness :-D

... These usually go for cheap too... And they're bi-xenon. Most 2004s were replaced under warranty because of the turn signal fogging over, but the headlight itself was fine.
