Nothing too major yet but i have started to customize the interior of the car by painting the trim of the center console. I have some pics of the process more will follow as it it completed.

That's not minor in my eyes...now you got to get the others done to or its going to look weird..LOL...I'm not into painting the interior but I appreciate people that take there time and do it right.

CactusWill 10-21-2009 03:22 PM

Yeah it looks pretty decent. Unlike that crap shiny finish people go for, yours actually looks nice.

mrmike 10-21-2009 03:24 PM

Those pics bring back memories of my first mod to my Alero. I was like "If I mess this up i'm screwed" lol

worknprog.99 10-21-2009 03:46 PM

that may look good since it would match your seats

jayson_waltz 10-21-2009 04:10 PM

actually that color probably will look pretty good. unlike some people that actually paint it some gloss color, which doesn't really look too good and hurts resale.

Xtrm 10-22-2009 08:57 PM

Thats only primer on the pieces. I was planning on painting the pieces tomrrow at work. I was going to paint them the same as the exterior colour, which is silver. You guys actually think it looks better in a matte?

wrestlingandrunning 10-22-2009 09:20 PM

probably since nothing in out interior is really shiny

cherrington17 10-22-2009 10:07 PM

it may look decent now... but when you put them in, it'll look goofy and outta place. (considering the hvac is black, and the shift insert is black) its going to look REALLY mismatched

whiterider00 10-23-2009 01:45 AM

i think itll look good. ive got the same pieces painted the same as my exterior, which is white, and i think it looks good. stock actually looks out of place to me because those 2 pieces and the gauge surround piece are like a dark marronish or something. good luck, and definitely post pics when its done.

lonnie 10-23-2009 08:08 AM

Really all that matters is how it looks to you, but when you post it on a forum and ask an opinion....you have opened a can of worms...LOL! I like the primer color...but like cherry said it is still going to look out of place if nothing else matches.

The only way you can do gloss is if you paint EVERYTHING gloss. None of the vinyl or plastic in my interior is still stock color, it's all black and white.
I remember leaving the tops of my doors pewter for awhile, but it looked so bad that it got finished as well.
