tranny problem?

this is something ive noticed within the past week or so. when i shift from drive to reverse, like backing into a parking space, the rpms drop from about 750-800 down to about 500 and all the lights, interior, and headlights dim. nothing happens when i shift from reverse into drive, or when i shift right from park into reverse. just curious if this is normal wear and tear, or if its something i should worry about. when i got the car 3+ years ago the tranny was replaced, and i have no idea what the milage or anything was on it, and up until now i havent had any issues besides occasional hard shifting.

Maybe try an alternator performance test....?

Any trouble codes at all?

no codes. could be alt. when im idling and turn the wheel, same thing happens with the rpms and lights. also happens if i hold the power window switch up after its all the way up. those 2 are obviously putting extra stress on the electrical system, so i dony really know why its happening with the tranny.

Well good luck it does not sound like anything major is wrong.

Seems like something electrical, if I was worried about it then I'd start with some battery and alternator tests.

ya, im not gonna worry about anything yet. if it gets worse or changes then ill start poking around and testing stuff. probly change battery first since its the one that was in the car when i got it, and i believe the mfg date on it is sometime in 03.
