i believe he is refering to the "door frame applique" NOT CALLED A PILLAR!!!
lets not start that discussion becasue its not a pillar or a door pillar it is a door frame applique.............ok put the glass down pull back the weather stripping you will see 3 phillips screws with the weather stripping down, sometimes i can get them out without removing the door frame molding and the belt molding but sometimes those 2 pieces have to come out and or loosed and moved out of the way to remove the door frame applique the door frame molding is just pressure fitted onto the door frame, so just start at one end pulling down and wiggling it loose, because the applique fits underneath the molding and the belt molding the applique has a opening for the belt molding to clip into, so the belt molding would also have to come up to remove the applique the belt molding is also pressure fitted, and the moldings has a small hook in it so when its snaps on the door it hooks inside the skin, so what ya want to do is grab inside the molding, pushing down and at the same time your twisting the molding to release the hook, working your way to the front of the door, and then pulling up at the same time doing said motion above with all the out the way, the applique pulls towards you and out, becasue its also wraped around the door frame think of this motion like opening a book i know it sounds complicated but its not its real easy to do |
thanks for the help bdyman. i got them off but i think i broke the little clips at the bottom in the process. they dont seem to be real important, are they?
