pm some of the members who've done it already. And check on 3.4Alero's thread in the showcase forum, I believe he states what kind of paint he used.

gotta use a certain type of paint, one that handles high heat.

Any auto parts store has engine paint. Like |Rev| said, just make sure it is high heat. And I just brushed mine on, but others have taken off the manifold to paint it. Brushing is a PITA, but I had no desire to take anything apart.

bwahahahahahahaha!!! "it hasn't faded or anything!"

ImSoBored 07-19-2004 10:27 PM

sharpies work pretty well

I used high temp engine paint for my brake calipers and some under hood stuff, I used regular touch up paint to paint the 3400SFI and have had no problems with temp or fading, I didnt use clear coat either.

I wouldnt use clear coat unless its high temp also, unless someone knows it'll work

Pimpalero03 07-19-2004 11:39 PM

i used a paint brush and sprayed paint into a cup and hand painted about 5 coats. takes time
