New sub, VHT Nightshades
i got a really good deal on this sub. it was custom built. 2000rms. even on my MB Quart 1000.1 it sounds a noticeable 3-4 db louder then the Fi BL. shakes your insides a lot harder. no i just need a bigger amp :scpimp:
pics of the nightshade applied on page 2! ![]() ![]() ![]() compared to the FI BL ![]() |
that second pic says "i'll prison rape your ears... and not apologize OR buy you dinner"
good luck with it. |
all i need now is a 4"x4" sticker to put on the dustcap. hmmmmmmm
|
Nice! Is that a fi basket? What's the power handling supposed to be like???
|

yea its a standard 12 spoke basket. its 2000rms. running off my MB Quart 1000.1 its hitting around 141-143. my buddy has a hifonics 1600rms amp but he wants way more then its worth. now the quest for a good 2000rms amp. Quote:
it was my buddys. he said it was built by some dude he knows who builds subs or some shit lol. ima try and get full stats on it |

if you can find me a 3x3 of that decal ill get it and put it on the sub xD |

Wow look at the motor on that bastard...Damn! Hey that looks like some small ass wire on that sub...guess it will need something allot bigger?

well the sub/amp needs bigger wire all around. it has an 8guage running from the battery to the amp (yeah yeah i know...) and i have no idea what guage the wire running to the sub is. its big enough to where if it was a size bigger it wouldn't fit into the terminals. when i get a bigger amp ill upgrade the wiring to either a high grade 4guage or a 0 guage. ive heard terrible things about knukonceptz KLMX aluminum wire. its 10% copper and 90% aluminum. x_x |
I would go 0 gauge.

yea. the wiring was originally for my 500rms boss amp. ended up melting in my buddys car. lol! but new wiring to come in the next month or so. i still gotta update the boom mat install page. i may not even need it, just due to after i took out all the trim on the inside and found all the rattle spots. its near perfect. only thing that rattles to an extreme is the doors. weather strip on the trunk fixed that rattle against the backglass area |
I smell Wolfpack FSQ.
Would only be logical since you bought a box from Bill. He also has a strong opinion on the KLMX wire... I havent used the revised stuff but the old stuff and it sucked. Personally I would avoid it and go with the proper stuff. Anyhow... amps... I got a few to fit... American Bass VFL 110.1 $320 http://americanbassusa.com/front/sho...spx?fileid=293 Massive Audio N4 $350 http://massiveaudio.com/store/produc...cat=281&page=1 Massive Audio DB3000 $300 http://massiveaudio.com/store/produc...cat=275&page=1 Crunch P1500.1 $155 http://crunchusa.net/Crunch_PZAmp.html And just so you know how good of a deal the AB is: http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/...-up-233134.htm Dont LOL to hard at the idiot that posted that thread...wasnt me. If you want to buy the whole 1/0 AB kit with an amp I will do it for $60 (at cost) |

and id rather go along the lines of buying a used amp then spot the extra for a new one. edit: shocker sticker ordered xD |
Hahahaha I knew what it was looking at it.
Well hopefully you got a deal. What happened to the Fi? If your going to part ways with it I may be interested in it and having it reconed. Theres plenty of used stuff out there. I know Bill is selling off his Hifonics amps, but they are not cheap and way more power than you need. |
Nice sub dude, looks like someone went a little glue happy with the recone, did he use a brush.
still waiting for a good show to go to. :scpimp: Side note: going to be doing my dudes S10, think 2 15", 3 blowholes, and d&b's B2. |
Now you did it.
Im anticipating a scathing post from the builder of that sub. I like Bill like a brother, but those subs can use some cosmetics. Something as simple as a CF dustcap. A magnet cover... Something. But if thats the worst thing I can say about those subs, then they must be good. The glue... it was the fumes man... They took over his mindz |
