how to remove the throttle body cover?

how do you remove the cover?

jlong 03-20-2010 12:35 PM

Not sure what your talking about. I have removed the throttle body to clean it.

darksobsession 03-20-2010 03:51 PM

if i were to attach an intake which goes directly to the throttle body, how does the black plastic cover come off? there are a lot of lines going into it and i don
t see a seam in the cover

I have a different engine but I'm sure it's only held on by maybe a few screws or clips maybe even a hose clamp...Really simple man

darksobsession 03-21-2010 04:00 PM

how do i get from this http://i37.tinypic.com/2m6wdcp.jpg

to this http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...Jun08_0002.jpg

Alerojester 03-21-2010 04:11 PM

there should be either bolts or screws that hold that on, i did it to my 2.4 its not really too hard just look for a clamp, loosen it up and see if there is anything holding the top of it on if not it should come off easily

would this intake differ in performance from the cosmo?

in terms of performance, which would be better?

http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/r...UND/159160.jpg

or

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...Jun08_0002.jpg

right now i have the plastic accordion thing attached to the throttle body cover, which is restrictive and i want to change to metal tubing

AbHeLlRaZoR 03-22-2010 12:31 AM

The second intake would be better but really I don't think it would make much difference, and to get the tb cover off it's pretty much like a hoseclamp that is around the tb it's pretty simple.

darksobsession 03-29-2010 10:55 PM

i don't see any hoseclamp near the base of the cover... there are various tubes going into it, tho, and they ahve to be removed to take off the cover.

who has the cosmo intake? how did you get it off?

thanx

there really is a little clamp on the bottom of the plastic box. it's there. it connects it to the throttle body. so look around there. i used a flat head screw driver to loosen it. then pull up

darksobsession 03-30-2010 02:16 AM

k thanks, will check again tomorrow daytime.

heineck 03-30-2010 03:07 AM
