Cloudy Headlight...?

Anyone know any remedies to fix up a cloudy headlight without buying a whole new headlight assembly?

Is it cloudy because of moisture on the inside or hazing on the outside?

BoarderTy 06-08-2010 12:45 PM

im thinking its hazing because there is no sign of moisture

There are kits to clean, smooth, polish, and coat plastic lenses. They can produce good results but don't last forever.

any at home remedies?
because as weird and random as it sounds i heard toothpaste and an old toothbrush and other weird things like peanut butter and that..haha.

Toothpaste should help some. Rubbing with a cloth might be smoother than a toothbrush. Or use a buffing head on a low-speed drill.

alright. where at in wisconsin are you?

yes toothpaste works, but you also have to use sand paper, and make sure you clean off the lens very well after using tooth paste but yeah i've seen it done and it will work for a while
