DDM Hid question

Hey guys. I just got my DDM Tuning Slim HID kit today and am trying to install them right now. However I cannot get them to work. The instructions on the ddm site do not make any sense.

So if someone could please tell me really quick what connects to what, I would greatly appreciate it!

bizarre179 06-15-2010 04:45 PM

Nevermind, I got it. The way the tabs are on this kit suggest the wrong polarity. I just flipped the connector over and BAM!

Just incase anyone else has that problem...

alerogls001 06-15-2010 07:51 PM

exactly what happened to me...

and me.

i'll keep this in mind when i do mine... when they get here. thanks!

Same problem here

The fogs have no plugs, just 2 prongs for the light connection. Use a lot of electrical tape ;)

Did anyone get an HID kit for their High Beams?

I am about to order them, but looking for opinions on which ones. I am thinking about getting 55w 8k's. I have 35w 6k's for lows.

Vella's Alero 06-16-2010 10:00 AM

I have the 55w 5000k for my lows and was thinking of doing the same for my highs. Would that make enough difference or not cause I would suggest probably doing the same type of bulb you have for lows to highs.

bizarre179 06-16-2010 12:03 PM

Took this off the site:

55w kits tend to wash out some of the color of the HID bulb due to the light output( for example, a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k kit).

Thats why Im thinking of going with a higher power (55w) and temp that is just a little higher (8k) to match my lows.

So

Vella's Alero 06-16-2010 01:21 PM

Well then...I didn't read that part. That's some good info! What you have in mind sounds good then. I might need to up my highs to 55w 8000's then too or 6000's.

colonel6632 06-16-2010 02:18 PM

i ordered the high beam hids, at 5000k. i didn't want blue. i should be getting them in the next few days here. i did get 6000k for the low beams because i wanted a light blue color. i dont think it matters for the high, i wanted the most light possible and no one should really see the light color for the high beams. they shouldn't be close enough to notice the blue, and that it matches the low beams. they'll be in too much pain from their eyes burning to see

Or you could just be smart and save your money. I'll never need my highs on again with 35w 6000k lows. Besides you don't have much room to mount both kits nicely

I was thinking of getting this kit.. hows the quality for the price

Aler01 06-17-2010 01:16 PM

The Quality for the price is outstanding. The low beam 35w 6,000k throw light pretty far too! Im currently contemplating upgrading the highs as well. Is there still a ridiculous wait period for shipping?

bizarre179 06-18-2010 02:46 PM

Mine took about 3 weeks to get to my house from the time I ordered them.

colonel6632 06-19-2010 12:46 AM

two weeks for me

whiterider00 06-19-2010 02:03 AM

i must have ordered right before the big rush. only took just over a week to get mine.

Did anyone get the dual in/out harness? I'm about to invest in this and was wondering if it would be a good idea for the harness.

What do you mean dual in/out harness? Pics?

If you mean a wiring harness, then they are not really necessary. Only if they flicker or only one of them lights up should you need a harness.

There's an option on DDM's website for either the Raptor or slim kits for a dual in/out harness thats $15 extra. I have no idea what it is, but figured I should check before I make a purchase.
