front axle
 

hey guys, so i pulled my front driver side axle, and there is a wear groove in it where the seal goes around it, so i think i found my leak and why the seals dont seal lol.

first. why did it wear like it did, that hardly seems right for just a little rubber seal to wear the metal axle

second, average cost of a axle?

third, is it the same axle as any of the other transmissions (3400 auto, 2.4 auto, 2.2 auto, etc)

not sure if it is the same, however I would bet the cost for a new axle is 75-125 per side. That is about the average that I have found.

I think manual 2.4 and 2.2 are the same, but not the auto obviously..

Autozone has one listed for $60 with a $50 core, so $110 up front and after your turn your old one in you get your $50 back.
