How to remove badges??
I've read several different methods to remove badges, but I'm unsure about what ones to trust.
What methods have some of you done, and the steps you took? |
heat gun, dental floss, goo gone, congratz

Bug and tar remover good for removing adhesive? |
thats also good too, ull need to scrub with your fingers a bit to get the adhesive off as well
|
when i just pulled all the vinyl off my Civic i used a chore boy dish scrubber lol, worked really well, just make sure your wash and wax afterwards and you'll be fine
|
i used goo gone and fishing line an it worked great.

I used goo gone for left over glue, and a hair dryer for actual badges.
|
its simple. heat gun and putty knife then a 3M eraser wheel

and be careful if you use a heat gun, especially on the plastic body panels. use it on the lowest setting and keep it moving or you could end up causing the plastic to bubble.

well u gotta be careful. ive never had an issue. and ur trying to pull the badge off not the adhesive, thats what the eraser wheels for. its not thr prof. way, but it works |
Fishing line is all i needed, i had a hairdryer available, but they came off with the line alone.
Instead of Goo Gone, i had a bottle of De-Solve-It which worked great. |
take the door bumper guards off while ur at it

And this is done how? Better yet, WTF are they? |
They are the long pieces of trim on your door about 2/3rd's down. It is also done with fishing line and maybe a hair dryer.
|
i wouldnt really call them "guards" tho. im pretty sure they were too narrow and sat flush with the edge of the door. not really gonna guard much that way.
|
goo gone, heat gun, and an eraser

they just stand out enough from the door to prevent someone else's door from crashing into yours. it hits that plastic bumper rail, instead. |
