thread size??
i have put an electric oil pressure gauge in my car. (wish it was mech..) and the sending unit that came with the gauge is a 1/8 npt. too small for where its supposed to go into the block and replace the stock. from what i hear. i need a 1/8 npt thread.. but went to ebay and looked at the stock sensor for our cars and it says "1/4-18" is the thread size? so if someone could clear this up it would be great. 1/4 or 1/8 thread to go in block?

1/4'' pipe thread is 18TPI...So you are just going to need a 1/4''npt to 1/8''npt copper bushing, the 1/4'' side will thread into where the sensor goes, and then the 1/8'' pipe will thread into that, not complicated at all
be sure to use teflon tape ;) |
thank you ttop
