shaving the trunk-lights and frenched licence plate DIY

i want to shave the trunk lights and french my licence plate, does anyone have a how to, me and a buddy were just going to tackle it and see how it went, hes done a few on mini trucks

from what i ready up just welk thin sheet metal over the light spot, weld the playe box in a 45 degree angle and bodyfill over the metal.

i just wanna get it right.

where are you going to french the plate? I'm interested in that. I've done a few tailgates but I dont see much available room on the trunklid...and I like my tails.. but a writeup would be nice

im going to take the stock plate tray off and weld an autoloc box in at a 45 degree angle parallel to the left side trunk light

take it to a professional autobody isnt something u can accomplish with a walkthrough. ive been in skool for AB for a year and i see this all the time. people try to do it themselves and end up paying double to get their mess fixed and get the job done right.

just because your buddy has done a few on some trucks doesnt make him a pro or make what you want to do any easier

Glad u made it to the site remember 3 seperate pieces of metal for the trunk to get shaped right! And the glass yeah may last a little longer if don't have subs when I did it all in foam and glass and cracked after a couple months. Then did it with metal but one solid piece and ended up useing alot of fillar and kitty hair to shape it right. Was fine heavy bit didn't crack till trunk got dented like no other.
