anit-lock and brake light
these came on this afternoon headed home from campus, i tried to stop n get the codes read but the Kitrells intown doesnt have the reader, no service engine or serve vehicle light is on.
Alternator and Battery have been giving me some trouble, sometimes the car just doesnt want to turn over and sometimes it cuts off after starting. I saw Reddogs thread but dont see alot of answers or relation |
Sounds like a hub assembly. But when I had to fix mine it was Tcs light and ABS light.
|
the service vehicle soon light was on when that was an issue
|
Just a thought ... It could be the ABS Control Module that could be on its way out.
|
probably that too and actually you're right about the service light sorry! :)

used the search button ftw but thankyou i dont know how related it is but the car is having trouble starting, after running it last night and parking about 1 am i tried to start it 12 hrs later and it cut on and off then wouldnt fire again, lots of cranking really fast, 11 volts on the battery, tomorrow i plan to get my redtop swapped out, new fuel filter and injector cleaner ran through, but im at a lost and fearful this wont help, the car did crank after getting the battery back to 12 volts with a charger |
cars at the shop, we think its the fuel pump, letting them check it out blind on the ground its not starting:(
|
How do you get fuel pump from abs light?
|
He got fuel pump from the fact that it cranks but won't start.
BTW you probably did but check the fuses first, it would suck to spend 400+ on a new fuel pump to find out the problem was a $.35 fuse. |
well the car will start if i do this wonderfull game of flicking the switch to build pressure in the pump and dancing lightly on the gas while trying to crank, works about the 7th try if im careful not to flood it, so im thinking it has to be working somewhat to keep the vehicle going if yall think is a fuse i can call up there n get my car,
i saw responses about fuses on other threads but their cars wernt turning over at all |
No, if a fuse was out on the fuel pump it wouldn't start no matter what you do. If you have to do that your pump is definitely either bad or clogged, and with a plastic tank it shouldn't clog unless you dumped sand in it or something.

ok get this, been at school taking exams, passed them all btw, got back cars in the yard, i asked what was up and pop told me they fixed it 150 dollars, somting with my stereo and amp?
that bugs me how in the heck? that stereos been in there for about a year how would it just randomly cause trouble now, cannot wait to go talk to johnny who did the "work" monday i will not be surprised if it starts not starting again and this "repair" was bs |
