Summer Pics

My second Alero (03 GLS) I got this spring that I've done a few small things here and there to. Pictures are NOT in order. I've done: Cleared Corners, Exhaust Tips, HID Xenon Bulbs, CAI, Strut Tower Brace, Rims ( had on first Alero ), Grand Am GT Mirrors, Removed DRLs, Automatic Headlight Sensor fooled to think it's always light out, Simple Sound System ( 10" sub and 1200 watt amp RUN THRU FIREWALL lol ), and I think that's it so far. Oh, the last picture is my Grandma's 2004 Alero with only 22K on it and almost never leaves the garage so I call it the Batmobile.

nice, what exhaust tips are those? and what up with your g'mas roof?

robalero 11-29-2010 07:23 PM

its a landou roof ( to inmitate having a convertible but you don't ).

how did you go about setting it so the car thinks the headlights are always on?

luckilero7 11-29-2010 07:31 PM

LMAO, it's not to imitate a convertible, it's just a style that has been done for years. Exhaust tips are just from Autozone, don't remember what brand. I just liked them because they were not so long and narrow to stick out and looked a little sportier I thought. I have em staggered too, to be a little different. There's a thread in here somewhere I found that describes how to do so, but did mine with a little more thought to it.

Lucalare 11-29-2010 09:33 PM

Vic28 11-29-2010 09:50 PM

Uhh.. the landau style purpose was to imitate a convertible

All from google takes about 1 second to look things up

"In the 1920s and 1930s, especially in the United States, the term "landau" became used for a simulated convertible, in which a fixed roof of a sedan with solid rear quarters was covered with fabric or leather and fitted with side landau bars to make it appear like a convertible top. This became the commonly accepted definition of "landau" in North American usage thereafter.

The landau description was revived during the 1960s. There was a trend for making "fake convertibles" by applying vinyl roofs on regular cars."

Car looks clean man.

kwhauck 11-29-2010 10:59 PM

like the rims, not a fan of the fake top...

Vic28 11-29-2010 11:08 PM

fake top his grandma atleast lol..

luckilero7 11-30-2010 09:57 PM

Well sorry I didn't look up the definition on google and sorry you guys consider it a "fake" top but around here it's just done because it looks nice and clean and you'd be surprised how many offers have been made on it and I am a fan of it if done right as such. Back to my car, the rims I don't even remember what they are exactly as I got em 5 years ago at a local small rim shop. They are 225/45/r17's and I believe they said MR2 on the center cap. I've seen em on a few other cars but in gunmetal. I am hopping to. Do a drop on it next year when I put the rims back on after winter but don't quite know what springs to go with. Thanks for the compliments on my car at least. I like clean and simple.

luckilero7 11-30-2010 10:01 PM

Oh, also thinking of SLIGHTLY tinting my taillights and simple dual exhaust.
