Car wont start
 

Hey guys, my car wont start. I trun the key and the fuel pump is turning on and i go to start it but it just doesnt crank, the battery is fine im guessing since all my electronics except my radio work... idk if its due to bad weather but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the grounds to the battery? and checked fuses?

does it even attempt to crank? check for bad connections to your starter..or maybe a faulty starter

Grounds are good, i have the battery unplugged for now to see if it needs reset. The car is at my girlfriends house, but what fuses would i check?

Can you hear clicking when you try to start it?

When i turn the key to on i can hear the fuel pump turn on but i go to start it and all i get is one click and nothing, im hoping its just a security issue as i have little money to get it fixed for a week.

UPDATE: Car still doesnt turn, checked all connections and fuses. My radio wont turn on, nor will my keyless entry work and my dome lights do not come on when i open the door yet the dashboard lights all work... im frustrated as i need this car to get to work this week. i am thinking that the problem is the BCM any advice?

check the alternator might be bad.

This. Try jump starting it with the positive hooked to the battery and the ground connected to the core support or frame (any good ground). If the car starts you have a bad alternator.

If it clicks when you try to start is then your battery is too weak, charge it, or get a new one and maybe then a new alternator, the dashlighs hardly require any power to turn on

you checked all fuses.. in all 3 locations? (both doors and under the hood) we frequently have members forget there are 3 in our cars.

the starter is right below your oil filter, little toward the driver's side.

I'd check the voltage on the battery. Cold weather tends to lower your V quite a bit.

Would having LED's in all of my tails have any affect on the electrical in my car? And im getting it towed today i cant afford not to have it.

Leds take less voltage, so shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like low voltage from the battery. rip it out and take it to napa and they will test it free. You may have a bad cell.

Its a bad starter, so far says the mechanic. lol hopefully thats ALL that it is. i need to get wise on this car repairing stuff.

it starts a problem at a time. You learn by mistakes... like the rest of us. Just sucks that sometimes the mistake, is debilitating for the vehicle.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, But having a similar issue, Except my dash lights are flickering like its a shitty ground(including the needles pausing during their rollover reset), no door chime either.

Am I in same boat here?

sounds like a bad connection at your battery, does yours start?

No, Same story, 1 click thats it.

just a hunch, but maybe a bad starter? :lol:
