hard pedals
 

i noticed that my brake pedal and acceleration pedal are harder to push and the "reaction time" is slower when my gas is really low (when the light turns on).
is this common?

well of course your throttle response is worse you're damn near outta gas lol, as for the brakes, that really shouldn't affect them...

I would just like to let you know your fuel pump hates you for letting your fuel level get that low.

Agreed, never go below a quarter tank, or you'll pay the price when your fuel pump dies.

just so you guys know newer cars actually have a pressurized fuel pump that isn't like the old 90's ones and can be brought down to on the E without having ill side affects its called the benefits of technology nowadays

Ok, your fuel filter hates you.

Except for the fuel pump leaches off the the gas in the tank to keep cool, so if the gas is really low, it can't cool as well, and a hot fuel pump is an unhappy fuel pump

Heh I have only filled mine twice this year, besides that it stays well under quarter tank lol. Also i noticed i can go actually fairly far when my light comes on, leaves me enuf gas to drive atleast another 100 miles, which i love.

Your gauge IS WAY out of calibration. That light is suppose to come on when 1 gallon is left

^actually most companies figure it for 50 miles left. most vehicles th light will come on more at around 3 gallons left, dumb people would be screwed otherwise when it came on on the highway.
x2 on that. It doesn't matter if it a new vehicle or pressurized or w/e, the fuel around the pump helps greatly in keeping it cool.

and you don't think running it in the winter alone is not going to keep it cool? where not talking about something thats revving at 7000 rpm here or anything of the sort its not going to burn out as easy as you guys are making it sound. I run mine till its near low all the time I haven't seen a light come on yet tho but I run it till it hits the red line and then I put gas in and have yet to ever once have an issue nor will it and if it does its not cause I run it low.

Even in the cold, electronic motors get hot, besides, there really isn't much air in a gas tank for the fuel pump to heat up before it starts to stay hot. Compared to gas which has a specific heat to water (about 100 times more heat capacitant than air), it will get hotter, faster.
