Lowering

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AMESINDXX%3AIT

im pretty much a suspension noob on cars (all ive owned are jeeps and trucks until now)

how hard would it be to do this? and are those springs worth the money? would I need anything else?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pair-...item4aa8cf64c8

and whats the deal on these?

xXManwhoreXx 05-02-2011 12:23 AM

I wouldnt do ebay ever! I would reccomend getting one of the true aftermarket componys spring like eibach or h&r or sprint. Just my 2 since but for all you know your going to get 2 springs that arent really for n bodys and they are for something else and your going to bottom out your struts

guiguilandry 05-02-2011 12:39 AM

get the canuck motorsport, they give about 2in maybe a little more once settled but I strongly suggest getting at least kyb gr2 struts

the_weber 05-02-2011 01:29 AM

I live in Alaska. Some shitty roads in places up here So I dont wanna go over 1.75. So I will need to do different struts 2?

Redog 05-02-2011 01:56 AM

^^ Then you want the Eibach lowering kit. They lower the car 1.25 inches. Then get the KYB GR2 struts

The Philly roads suck. I've bottomed out a few times BEFORE I lowered the car.

is that what you have? I was aiming for closer to 1.5 but better safe than sorry I guess

robalero 05-02-2011 05:12 AM

Eibach is 1.5 in the front and 1 inch in the back ( according to their site at least )

kwhauck 05-02-2011 08:31 AM

I would do H&R. They are the best all around for look and performance....

Jboyjbb 05-09-2011 12:44 PM

I think its just easier to cut the springs on the struts...kinda hill billy but it works

you have a modding disability, you need help.....

Jboyjbb 05-09-2011 01:15 PM

^^^ one of my friends did it on his monte carlo and he hasnt had any problems yet

Lucalare 05-09-2011 01:32 PM

Holy noobs...Cutting a spring ruins it, so it will make your car bounce like it has hydraulics on every little bump, not to mention the fact that the de-tempered spring is much harder and hence prone to breaking. Don't cut your springs, if you do, you're retarded.

JLw7123 05-09-2011 02:11 PM

ya never cut your springs just spend the money on some good lowering springs and struts and you will be good to go. plus cutting springs makes the car handle like shit. who ever cuts there springs is retarded.

ya that is the key word he has not had a a problem YET i bet it bounces like it has hydraulics when it hits a bump. i laugh when ever i see cars with cut springs.

widbyj 05-09-2011 02:51 PM

Really! Don't do it! Eibachs are easy to get and work perfectly. Check SummitRacing for details...

$hawn 05-09-2011 03:15 PM

If non cut stock springs are breaking, I can only imagine cutting them would weaken them even more and possibly break even sooner. Buy some lowering spring and good struts.
