led instrument issue

ok so I installed red LED's t-10 inverted in my cluster yesterday and while I thought I had all of them working ( one is not ) its not very bright at all is there anyway to make it brighter? do I gotta take the green off? and yes my dimmer switch is at the top

so all of them are bright, except one?

i'd check to make sure the contacts are clean and that they have a proper connection with each other.

their all ok its not very bright at all maybe its just that green film that I need to get rid of since I never touched it I just installed the bulbs used an ultra thing pair of needle nose pliers to crimp them to the connectors

ok... so all of them aren't very bright?

and are you looking at it in darkness or daylight? Daylight, I can't see any of my dash lights. I have to close up my garage and block all the windows... Red is kinda hard to see normally, since its at an extreme for our vision. Also, its a harder wavelength for leds to reproduce...

In my experience, reds are always about half the brightness of blues. Just how it is.

Iv noticed that with my underglow, the blue is way more intense then the red. As for the dash lnoticed I noticed a sorta varying brightness of them as if some were covered up and some weren't, now I have the overlays so it's not a prob. The red led's deal your doing is awsome though! I always loved the look in my brothers grand prix.

it WILL get brighter if you remove the film on the gauges. No doubt there.

robalero 05-15-2011 11:13 AM

ill remove the film because I drove home last night at 12:30 am and it wasn't very bright it was ok but the stock bulbs were a lot brighter.

looks like I know what im doing next saturday, tear her apart fix that one bulb and clean that film, any special thing to do or a link on here of the how-to get rid of that film?

cherrington17 05-15-2011 11:14 AM

its on here somewhere... i forgot who did it though.

robalero 05-15-2011 11:49 AM

I've got white leds in my car - in the cluster, shifter, map lights, foot area and dome. I will take pictures, and post in about hour, when I'm back home.

sounds good man I wanna see it, did you have any issues taking the green film off?
