Anyone by this big brake kit
check out a few threads on gagt you can do this using f and w body factory part and vette or camaro calipers for about 500 per set
Have them on my Malibu, she stops very nicely now!
I ran Baer brakes for probably 7 years. Good stuff.......I'll be posting my setup for sale soon.
You could do the Camaro/Corvette Calipers and Impala rotors (16 inch min wheel) or all GXP set-up for half the price :awesome:

G6 or G8 GXP? Or does it matter? Probably a stupid question, but will it clear a 16" stock Alero wheel? Looks like a big brake kit is in my future. |
2005 Pontaic Grand Prix GXP is the kit to get.
The rear should clear 16 inch wheels, the front won't, you'll need 17's to clear them. The Camaro/Corvette calipers and Impala rotors will clear 16 inch wheels ;) I did all 4 brakes on my car (rotors, calipers, brackets, and pads) for less than $700 |
Last question, and sorry for the thread jack, but will I need to get the caliper mounting brackets off an Impala?
No, if you do the camaro calipers with Impala rotors you need the brackets from the Camaro.
There is a list on here of the stuff you need. You can get a lot of it at Rockauto.com ;) |
Well, I just got r1concept drilled and slotted rotors to go with my raybestos ceramic pads. I wouldn't mind buying a used set mfuller, and wouldnt mind buying the custom setup everyone keeps talking about
Wheels: Raceline 126 Black
Rear: 05 Pontaic GXP Capilers and rotors Front: 98-02 Camaro Capliers with 00-05 Impala Rotors ![]() |
