Fiberglass hood/fenders
I doubt anyone sells these but I am looking for a STOCK looking fiberglass hood and fender replacements. I am not looking to change the look of the car. I simply want to make it lighter.
Thanks Guys |
pretty sure there is no stock looking fiberglass parts for our cars.
|
^^ That is correct
Why are you making it lighter? |
mileage? racing? only 2 reasons I can think of.
|
Racing maybe, but mileage, eh. The stock hood and fenders on the Alero are so tinny that the little bit of weight you shed by losing them wouldn't be worth the cost, it would take too long to pay itself back.
|
true^ I have be told that more weight on the drive tires the better
|
Better traction yes, but in reality unless your Alero is Heavily modified they really don't have enough power to spin the tires much anyway.

My Alero is Heavily Modified. |
what do you have modded on your car
|
my alero isn't heavily modified, and it can spin the tires no problem... so i'm not sure what your talking about. i even have a 2.2, the supposedly smallest engine of the 3
|
I miss my car :( when i launched it from a stop it skids for like 5 non-exaggerated seconds sideways until i turn it and it catches and took off.

That might have to do with less weight, or maybe the type of tire. I usually buy cheapo tires, so I forget that my Alero has really high end tires (got em free with the car). That's probably why mine just takes off with barely a squawk. |

really...? pics or its a lie. ;) |
my car shouldn't be any lighter than any other alero. and i run expensive tires too
|
I have the 3.4, and it has to be heavier, plus the 4t45e is probably heavier than the F23
|
Sedans are heavier than coupes; 3400 > 2.4 > ecotec; and auto > stick.
so a manual ecotec coupe is the lightest stock alero, and 3400 sedan (all auto) is the heaviest stock alero |
hey i hate to crash in on this posting but i dont know how to post things cause im new, and i want to know where is the best place to start when speaking of improving my cars performance? thanks

nuh uh a fully dressed ld9 is only 300 lbs and on an ecotec its 350 |

Which means that he has the lightest possible alero, and I have the heaviest. |
