New AC compressor pulley not lining up
i installed new AC compressor yesterday and it seems the pulley isnt lining up with the harmonic balancer. any one know of a fix?:(
|
You got the right compressor? No reason it should not be a perfect fit. Got a pick you can post?
|
the belt is sliding over coming over the backside of the harmonic balancer for some reason.
|
Where did you get the compressor from? Is it a GM unit?
|
engine?
i had a similar issue with my ld9. but it the belt squeeked like it was no ones business. and kept sliding off. |
got it from autozone, and its the compressor they called for. and its the 2.4 engine
|
check ur tensioner, and the bolt on top of the alt. that runs into it
|
looks like it may be the belt itself. looks like one of the grooves on it came off. so when i flipped it around it isnt coming off. looks like im off to the parts store damn i feel like a dumbass. belt looked good other than that :censored:

It could be a problem like I had... My AC compressor pulley was about a half inch behind the harmonic balancer pulley.... My belts kept striping off on the inside...
![]() ![]() Look the same? I ended up replacing the harmonic balancer, and I haven't had any problems since. |
mine was just barely riding on the outside of the harmonic balancer, went and got a new belt. so far so good guess i'll have to keep an eye and ear on it

how big of a pain was it to replace the harmonic balancer? |
If it tears the belt again, you'll probably want a new balancer. I went through 3 belts already this year.
|
very nice pics for a problem that we may have

Are you sure it's not the A/C compressor? Considering the source it would still be my #1 pick as the problem.
