problem installing aftermarket radio!!!!!!
no matter what headunit i try and use it wont power up. ive never hadthis problem in any of my other vehicles! i will be using the stock radio and pull it out and hook up the aftermarket radio and it wont power up. but when i hook it up in someone elses car it works fine... anyone have a answer to this problem?
If I remember correctly, there is a module that goes between the stock harness and the after market deck that is needed.
yeah like the aftermarket harness between the stock harness and the headunit i have that but the stereo wont power up but it works fine when i switch vehicles with it
so lets get this straight. you have also put the stock radio back in and that continues to work?
you must have the monsoon system in it. ull need another special adapter
why is that? im thinking a bout put one a radio and sub in my car and i think i might have that system? maybe. how can i tell?
if you have the monsoon system then there is an amp behind the trunk lining on the drivers side
yep. got the amp
Sucks to be you.
y?
cause of that darn harness thats why
well whats the issue?
System with the factory amps usually get dicey real quick.
Stock amps are OK for the stock system. Put something different in it they quickly turn to a nightmare... It might work OK, it might not. Usually I advise to just replace it all or leave it alone. Headunit, speakers and wiring. Add an amp if you like (I would). |
i was planning on installed a new HU and putting and amp and sub in the trunk. simple as that. shouldnt have too much problem should i?
Maybe, maybe not.
Its been my experience when you get into a setup like that there is a lot of distortion, noise and the overall sound quality sucks. Thats why I commented you usually need to change it all or nothing. |
