is it just me?

or does anyone esle love this car and engine? there hasn't really been one thing that I havent had to fix ( yet I can name a few that will take longer ) that hasn't taken me more then 15 to 20 mins to change the parts on and install the new ones. I just replaced my alternator two nights ago and it took me longer to walk to the parts store next door to the garage then it took me to change the darn thing, then wheel bearings a couple months before took no time to change compared to a lot of other vehicles ive changed them on

so far the biggest pain to change out for me has been the fuel pressure regulator

Philbar71 11-19-2011 12:17 PM

FPR, leaky cam towers, crappy idle, crappy stock coil packs, those are just a few things I can name off of the top of my head...

Mines got nearly 200k, and other than leaky cam tower seals, ive never had any engine issues. Well, until the mystery shit thats happening now thats probly just a sensor. But for the milage of the engine, and how i drove the first yr or two i had it, its doing great. Also, relatively powerful for an older 4cyl. That could also be from the secret cams, 56mm tb, full intake and exhaust, and lightweight crank pulley.

i've put 100000km on my ecotec. didn't touch anything on it other than the oil. i love my car, its my baby, and once it's paid off it's sticking with me until its dead

robalero 11-20-2011 11:23 AM

yea ive rearly had to touch anything on mine engine wise either. and white its not just you I find my stock 2.4L has lots of go for a 4 banger compared to a lot of older ones out there

rocketfast321 11-21-2011 11:19 AM

So far my alero's 2.4 has been ok. At 119k I have to keep a little money saved up. For either the water pump or clutch.

But I do miss my old 2.4 grand am. Out of all the years i had it, just had to do the water pump.
VVVVVVVV
