Clear tail lights?

I'm wonder who could do custom tails? or where i could go to get them Clear or Altezza, i emailed AnderbrA Innovations but never got a reply

You're on your own unless you can get another forum member who knows what they are doing.
You won't get a reply from Bryce (AnderbrA); the last attempted group buy (several years ago) did not go well and he hasn't been heard from since.

Unfortunately no. They're more of a pain in the ass for custom fabrication. Tail light mods(other than tinting) are more uncommon than headlight mods for the Alero. Actually I'd say they're super rare to come across.

I wanna clear out the orange side markers on the rear tail lights and make them just like the reverse light housing. any tips or pointers?

I thought about doing this too, the only way I could see it to be possible is to use an exacto knife to finely cut the plastic where the red reflector is in the middle... This will allow you to take a clear piece of lexan, frost it white like the reverse light, then use a heavy duty silicone to reseal the lense...
It was too much work for me at the time to accomplish, so I just tinted the lower portion of the entire tails to make it even!!!

that looks pretty sick. what did you use to paint em and what was the process?

tw0123 12-03-2011 09:51 PM

Rubbing alcohol to clean the entire lens, then I taped off the red portion of the tail lights and put on about 3-4 light coats of VHT Nightshades and then removed the tape and added 3 light coats of clear coat over the whole lens.

Whole process took me less than 3 hours :)

I know what my next project is :)

Indyrace.com 'Indy' somthing company (you can find them online) can make cleared tails. They run about $400, find some guys on car domain that have them. A couple had more info posted about them.
