Is it possible for this to work?
Hello Im new to the forums since i bought a 2000 Alero GL3 coupe. I had been looking into turbo charging my car but im mostly broke so extensive work is not an option. So i was going to buy an electric supercharger.....UNTIL I did some research about their stupidity. But i recently saw a website selling an electric supercharger with a Garret Turbine attached to it so i was wondering if it could work. Or should I just get a Cold air intake and call it a day? Also thought I should add that Im not a racer or ricer i just like driving fast

id buy the real thing.. that electric thing wont give you the boost a real one will. so just buy a cold air intake UNTIL you can do the job right the first time.
ive got plans for my car. hoping to have mine done with a turbo in 2 years. |
:rotflmao:
if that electric motor can spin the compressor wheel 100,000+ RPM, it might work |
so how much are they even asking for that interesting contraption
|
The amount of energy that a 12V electronic motor of that size can produce is inferior compared to the amount of energy that is produced by the exhaust gases that are used to traditionally used to spool a turbo.
Get a cold air intake, you'll be more satisfied. There isn't an electronic driven method of forced induction that comes close to the power gains that supercharger or turbocharger can produce. It's all gimmicks and lies. |
I that i would get helpful insight form here thanks and the asking price was $345 btw
|
yeah major rip off. you wouldnt be pleased with that at all and thats 345$ to go towards building your car. :awesome:

Just because it says Garrett on it, doesn't mean it's legit.
