System Setup Question
I have a 2000 GL3 coupe and Im going to install a system in it. I have already selected the woofers, door speakers, and the rear speakers that i want off of audiosavings.com. I just wanted to see if any of you guys had suggestions for it and im interested in getting an AMP for it but Im unsure which type to get so i would appreciate it if one of you could point me in the right direction.
Front door speakers: http://www.audiosavings.com/products...S-NEW/746.aspx Rear speakers: http://www.audiosavings.com/products.../KFC-X693.aspx Subwoofers: http://www.audiosavings.com/products...2DSV---K2.aspx Head unit: http://www.audiosavings.com/products...2DSV---K2.aspx |
I would run the same impedance for front and rear speakers, that way you can get a 4 channel amp and run them all off the same thing.

well for the subs i would get a mono or 1 channel amp and for the speakers a 2 or 4 channel amp. I would run atleast 4 gauge power and ground wire. 12 gauge speaker and subwoofer wire. Last do not get a capacitor just do the big three upgrade. when buying the power and ground wire buy a spool of 4 gauge so you will have enough for the big three. I would also get a fused distribution block so u can run 4 gauge into one end and a split so you can run both amps. right now is have 2 amps hooked up one for subs and one for mids and highs but i am running 0/1 gauge wire. you want an amp that will give the subs good power but not to danger them to blow.

Your third and Fourth link are of the Subs.

Ummmm makes no difference. He can run these 4 speakers on a 4 channel amp utilizing all 4 channels without issue. Quote:
12 ga. wire for the speakers is huge overkill. 16-14 ga is just fine. 12 ga wont hurt anything, but your wallet. For a sub amp you will want something in the 600-800 WRMS @ 2 Ohm range. In a class D mono amp you will be looking for 1200 WRMS-1600 WRMS (odd ball) @ 1 Ohm. You will find out that this is going to cost you a little bit of cash. If you want low dough the RE REx 12's are pretty awesome subs. I stay far, far, far away from Krapwood |
