DvD deck Hand break bypass

Does anyone know how i can do this with Kenwood 911 dvd? my hand break doesn't stay up.. so how can i wire it to a switch?

jawa 03-18-2012 03:30 PM

wire the green wire to a ground

kwhauck 03-18-2012 06:15 PM

I wired mine grounded out back to itself through a two way switch. That way when I flick the switch off/on it thinks the ebrake is pulled back..

you dont even have to put a switch on it just ground the green wire, i have a kvt 717 in mine and i just grounded the green weire and it plays movies all the time now, , the nice thing about these KVT decks, is they can go duel zone, meaning that you can have the radio playing for the frnt and the movie for the rear or vice versa

Hellfire5670 03-20-2012 04:03 AM

oh thats pretty cool that counts for my kvt 911 hey?

jawa 03-20-2012 04:45 AM

prety sure it does

kwhauck 03-20-2012 10:24 AM

Without a switch what are you gonna do when the cops pull you over and your movie plays when you are parked?

Hellfire5670 03-20-2012 10:30 AM

close the screen

kwhauck 03-20-2012 03:00 PM

Mine is a double din, no closing. The reason I put a switch in.

lonnie 03-20-2012 03:10 PM

Can someone give me a logical reason why they would want a DVD player playing a movie in the front while driving? I just don't get it.

Why not wire a switch with a relay that will allow you to run it as it should or bypass it?

kwhauck 03-20-2012 03:15 PM

I believe its pretty obvious, so I can watch a movie while I drive on long road trips........duh!!!

Good reason. Long rides get boring....obviously he's not going to STARE at the screen....glance at it once in a while...why else would we have TV screens?

tw0123 03-20-2012 10:39 PM

i personally get sick of hearing the movie and not being able to see it while i drive the van... dvd is in the back... also the wife tilts her seat back to watch which is unsafe as well lol... so tv up front cures all ailments!!

Right.. and you're not going to stare at your phone.. you'll just check a text real quick and at that moment a car pulls out in front of you or hits the brakes when you least expect it.

Driving is not a secondary task. So many people try to do all sorts of things while driving and they are a danger to themselves and everyone around them.
