Air intake for my alero 2.4l help
I would like to know if this one on the link will work and will it help my car on gas and other things i have 2.4l auto trany bone stock it's just daily driver trying to make it run better
There two links what ones better Here the link http://www.cosmoracing.com/productin...d=1363&added=1 Second link http://www.cosmoracing.com/productin...d=260&pid=1361 |
Go with the second one. It looks like it comes with the 90* elbow to get rid of square resinator that goes on the tb.
|
I own the second one. I recommend it. I turned it into a CAI after a while. Might turn it back into a WAI for the winter

Did you notice any better performance or better mpg

You got any pics of under your hood |
Did I notice an increase in power/mpg? No. Was there probably a slight increase in power/mpg? Probably, albeit slight. The largest difference is the hiss during acceleration. Do I punch the gas to hear a louder hiss? You betcha.
I have a pic somewhere on the site of my setup. Definitely one in the 2012 ASS pics. I'll update once I find one. |

Nope maybe when it like 20f on the interstate. I get lower mpg in the summer. I guess the car doesn't like 120f intake air. "Might car mods" on you tube tested the myth of intakes. And all they do is make a cool sound. |

My alero 2.4l |
if you really think it through, it is only for a cool sound when you start the car and rev it, and punch it during driving...
it says the performance gain is only 5hp... by the time that gain makes it to the wheels, it is gone... no performance gain that will be noticed. this is a supporting mod that when combined with many other mods will result in a noticible result... intake, headers, exhaust= noticible gain here is the one i have on my car for a visual.. same as the pictures on the website!! ![]() only difference is i bought mine local and only paid $35... it is for a cavalier and the IAT sensor is a bit stretched in placement between the 2 cars, but it still works |

Correct me if im wrong but its just a rubber-ish coupler that goes over your throttle body that leads to the tubing and intake.... pretty much the same thing if you ask me |
So your guys tell me to keep my alero stock then
|
Nope just get one off ebay and be happy. It adds a little bing to the engine bay.
here is my ebay intake plastic dip-ed |
Can anyone confirm that a 2.2L ebay intake will fit his 2.4l ?
Or will the plugs on the intake be different? I believe there are three plugs: One runs from the fuel rail.. I think One is a vacuum hose from the valve cover One is the MAF sensor ![]() |
Spc post a full picture to compare the bends... the 2.4 only has the iat sensor but the other holes on yours could be plugged with a rubber bung or welded shut... the bends are my only concern as to if it will fit or not...

you had the rarest ecotec alero ever if you have a mass air flow and no IAT...that is your IAT sensor, the ecotec in the alero didn't have a MAF |
