What's better?

Velcro for enclosure and sub or something else to hold em down?

04PONTIACGA 01-09-2013 07:42 PM

Are you trying to hold your enclosure so it doesn't slide around in your trunk? I don't really understand your question. Can you give more details?

DeeJayy 01-09-2013 07:56 PM

Yes enclosure and amp. So they don't slide around. lol Sorry

I used brackets and screws for the box. Doesn't move at all. I screwed my amps to the backside of the back seat.

DeeJayy 01-09-2013 08:27 PM

ok cool. By any chance do you know the sizes for the screws and also the size for screws to go into sub to box? Google says 2in drywall screws.

I did the same thing. My amp and capacitor were mounted to the back of the seat, and the enclosure was mounted to the spare tire cover. I never really thought about size of acres I just used short drywall screws (not sure on the length) to mount the amp, and the enclosure. For the sub to.the enclosure, when I bought my MTX 9500 it came with them, they were allen head wood screws, about an inch and a half. You don't have to, but I recommend pre-drilling the holes for the sub to enclosure to prevent splitting.

Alright, yeah my kicker only came with the sub and thats it. One more question, when you hook up the wire from the sub to the box connections, do you solder it or what can i use? also what wire? I'm so confused..

I glued Velcro to my carpet and to the box. so I can take it out when spave is needed. also mounted my amp to the underside of the deck lid. nice and out of the way and hidden

It all depends on what sub you have is it dual voice coil, or single? Is it 2ohm, or 4ohm? A pic of the back of the sub would help us help you.

DeeJayy 01-09-2013 09:31 PM

Its dual and 4 ohm. Pic is here

Iirc, for 4ohm you jumper the negative on one voice coil to the positive on the other. Then take the two terminals left, and hooked them up to the amp. It should have all this in the manual that came with the sub.

As for connecting to the terminals inside the box, you'll need terminal connectors, for these just go to local auto parts store, and the can point you in the right direction.

What amp do you have, and is it mono?

That's bridging it right? Terminal connectors? Like these http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=421754_0_0_

or these?

use the terminal connectors of your first link. they should go onto the end of the clips on the sub as well as the ones on the box itself. they will be a snug fit, and will bend the tabs easily... take your times and be gentle but firm :)

04PONTIACGA 01-09-2013 10:37 PM

No, bridging is when you have a two channel amp, and you rake positive from one channel, and the negative from the other.

You'll need the female slide connectors. There is two different sizes, so just be sure to get the right one for your application. One is wider than the other.
