Been a little while since I've posted. My expedition and the wifey took over my funds for finishing the alero but the time is near! I posted awhile ago said a junk yard here had a ga gt tranny w 1000 mi 600$. Called and turns out the tranny has a total of 5 miles on it. Also from a 2003 so from what I understand, its perfect :) anything else I should have changed out in the process? Tork converter? I wouldn't know where to begin swapping a trany so I'm paying someone else to do it. Can't wait till I can finally drive the thing lol.

It must have been a really late and really bad test drive considering it is an 03

The junk yard has a contract with gm. If a car goes through and its not perfect they scap it, even a few that are perfect they ditch. I just wana know what else to change out with it

Check the model of ga it came from... the gt's had a different final drive ratio which will not bode well with your pcm and will require a retune... if it's from an se model you're golden !

I know. From what I understand after the trans swap id need to take it to a dealer and have the pcm re tuned to think its a gagt. Not a deal breaker

Let me know if you need someone to do the tune. I can flash the pcm for a gagt tune and then change the vin back to match yours. if you want i can also do my performance tune while i'm in there. If you can be without the pcm for a couple days, you can ship it to me to do the tune, maybe while you're doing the trans swap? or if you'd rather do it faster, you can pay for a core and i can ship you one whenever. let me know what you think.

Much apreciated. I do want the gagt tranny, but at this point prolly going stock. The junk yard has had this trans since 04 and won't budge on the price. Seals could be bad or who knows but its a steap price for questionable quality.
