how to remove projector from foglight

does anyone know how to remove the projector from the foglight housing? i just picked up a set and there was water inside it. so i figured id take it apart and paint the foglight housing surrounding the projector. figured id ask for help before i go ahead and end up breaking it lol

I did it once but it was a long time ago. I believe you have to break it but I'm not sure. Just tape it off and do it. Easier then actually trying to pull it apart.

Sounds good. Andysautosport used to sell the fogs with the projector tinted black, I think they still have them. 40$ a light.

Iirc a flat head screwdriver and some patience will get it apart... i think it is spring loaded into the levelling mechanism so you have to be patient and remember how it goes together... there might be a couple plastic screws in there too... as sleepy it's been a while since i did this... didn't break it though... i remember that much cuz i was going to sell them to mike the canadian for his malibu!!

Maybe it won't break, it's been so long and I no longer have stock fog lights lol

i tried it on the one i cut the one of the clips off that hold the projector in, i still had to work it out. ill just epoxy it back in or something lol but now i see how there held in. worst case ill just go to the jy and pick up another one

Good luck finding one that isn't cracked and will take in water quickly.
