pace setter exhaust

okay, so i plan to but this within the next lets say month or two (my pay checks are 2 weeks apart) and i wanted to know, is the one that everyone around here talks about the monza performance exhaust? also, do i need to get a new catalytic converter? thanks in advance for the answers, you guys are the best

Pacesetter are common and cheap. There are some other good ones out there but are more expensive (a 3400 guy can elaborate more). It can be put onto stock exsuats but if you want to get the most out of them, new bigger piping, high flow cat... tune down the road to optimize it.

alrighty, new hi-flow cat, i planned on getting a tune, when i bought my car it had been sitting out for a very long time, the condition its actually kinda sad haha. But i have slowly been fixing it up, oh and the kit comes with 2.5" piping

03Sleepr 03-26-2013 11:36 PM

are you planning on just the cat back? or a full exhaust with headers?

Custom exhaust will cost just about as much while sounding how you want it. Personally I think the pacesetter is to quiet

sleepyalero 03-27-2013 12:47 AM

if your getting just exhaust, it bolts right up.

declined_imp 03-27-2013 08:16 AM

@ manwhore, I was thinking about bolora, but I listened to sleepy exhaust video And I love the sound haha

sleepyalero 03-27-2013 08:54 AM

keep in mind i have headers and no cat.

but when i was in search for an exhaust system. this is the video that won me over to pacesetter. and i honestly couldnt be happier, it sounds verry good in my car with the headers.

Ya I love the sound of em, is it the headers that gives it that specific one? Because I don't want to loose that sound later down the road when I turbo

sleepyalero 03-27-2013 02:39 PM

im sure turbo will have a whole different sound.

me, ill be getting rid of the pacesetter sadly and doing a 3 inch full custom exhaust when i turbo mine.

I believe I am about the only one so far who can attest to this:

Pacesetter exhaust with stock headers and high flow cat=good sound

Pacesetter exhaust with pacesetter headers=shit rasp funk music.

Start close to the engine and move back. Those headers will change everything as they did with mine. I have a custom magnaflow setup with 2.5" piping with mandrel bends, high flow cat and a resonator to smooth out the terrible rasp and drone that occurred with installing the headers.

I have pacesetter headers and exhaust and have no rasp...

declined_imp 03-27-2013 10:14 PM

Okay the plan so far is order the Monza kit from pace setter, keep my stock headers, then next paycheck, hi flow cat

xXManwhoreXx 03-27-2013 11:19 PM

Imagine under load...

Straight piped with a flowmaster 80

sleepyalero 03-28-2013 01:18 AM

underload the car sounds better then in N. (with pacesetter headers/exhaust)
