need some tail light tips
I'm taking a pair of tail lights apart to do stuff but its not like the head lights its like epoxy but I know its doable so can any one tell me how they did it. Im kind of thinking of cutting them open
|
If anything it would be like removing a windshield ... go to a shop and ask them for a tip... usually they use a straight edge or exacto knife to cut it out... then once the lenses are off clean out the rest of the epoxy do your thing and re-epoxy to seal...:
as far as i know anyone who has done tails has just taken broken sets or smashed the lenses and use lexan for replacements after creating a mold for the lexan |
On the Alero, the lenses are plastic welded to the assemblies. 10% of the time the weld is bad so you can get it off in one piece, the other 90% its not and you have to smash and break it off. You can try cutting with a dremel and thin cutoff wheel. ( I did that with a couple sets of 3G Eclipse taillights)

thanks guys I think I'm gonna dremel it

Please explain! |
its a hasel because my cut off wheal is just to small to cut in as far as I want so(some times I have to use a good knife) I'm having to do a combo of cuting and prying but I did get them all apart, third break light was easiest lol

Pics of it apart please!
