Bluetooth OBD2 Scan Tool and android apps
Anyone have experience with android apps like Torque or Dash Command and the bluetooth scanners?
Found this one http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-...pr_product_top seems to have good reviews. |
I bought the previous version of this one and it runs perfectly fine with Torque, reads all the fault codes and everything. If you want it to calculate your MPG though, you have to enter the engine size and weight of your car in the app for that to work.

I like torque it is a great resource

I bought a OBD2 reader from ebay and it didn't work with the Torque app even though it was supposed too.

if your phone is a samsung then that might be the issue...My phone is a samsung and sometimes it connects right away, sometimes it might take me half and hour of messing with it to get it to work...I love the program when my phone behaves

That may be it, I have the s3

I bought a device on Amazon for about $25, works great with torque on my Nexus 4.

I ordered the one linked to in first post. I don't have a smart phone, but do have a samsung tablet I use for navigation program. It is bluetooth, gps, and wi-fi capable. I don't think I'll be able to read ABS codes, but for the price it's not a big deal to me.

Received the bluetooth adapter, installed Torque. Up and running.
Found no trouble codes. I have no idea of what most of the things it can measure are! lol I just have oil temp, coolant temp, mpg, and O2 sensor temps and volts on the screen. Any suggestions of what to watch would be appreciated. |
