few questions
 

First off, i have a red 99 alero with the v6 3.4.

My first question is what is the specific name of the color? I want to repaint the trunk and hood and want the factory color.

Any recommendations on where to buy it?

Lastly, i wanna do some stuff with my engine. Mainly rebuild it this summer. Since this is my first rebuild, i wanna buy another 3.4 engine so i can rebuild it a bunch to familiarize myself with it. So what years of which cars can i pull an engine from?

99-04 aleros all use same engine. Grand am too.

For paint call a gm dealer and tell them your vin and they will tell you. Then I went to Sherwin Williams Automotive paint and bought a rattle can or you can buy gallons anything really. They mix it for you and it takes like a hour to make.

Your paint code is listed on the sticker under the spare tire cover in the trunk

^ This. Since yours is a 99 though the only red available for that model year was bright red. Hope that helps.

Pick a 2000+ 3400 engine. The cylinder heads and intake manifolds were improved slightly. Only issue is that you'd also have to run a 2000+ EGR.
