New Sound System
I'm upgrading parts of my sound system and would like your guy's opinion on the equipment I've chosen. Please leave comments and if I should switch out equipment.

Do you not like the Blaupunkt head unit anymore? Or are you just wanting to go with something different? I'm just wondering cause I know Blaupunkt used to be really good. Not sure if that has changed or not though lol.

Ahhh that sucks. I guess that means they aren't as good as they used to be then. The last aftermarket head unit I had was a Sony and I never had any problems out of it. That being said I've also heard good things about the Kenwood head units from people who have had them. So I think you'll like the one you picked out in your original post just fine. |
The sub and amp selection is pretty good. You always want your amp to be slightly more powerful than the sub, otherwise you risk clipping it. 150 watts more is safe in your setup.
I only have 2 complaints, and that's the head and the CCA amp wire. I personally would get this Clarion. It's better than the kenwood and the RCA outputs are 5 volts instead of 2.5 volts. The higher the voltage, the less noise interference you get. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ion-CZ702.html The other thing is that CCA is not as conductive as OFC. CCA is basically aluminum with copper strands. Aluminum is more resistant than copper, and electricity looks for the path of least resistance. If money is an issue, it may be better to get an 8awg OFC kit than 4awg CCA. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...NVX-XAPK4.html The difference is $30. I'd get OFC if I was you. |
