Snow Tires
this is a posting for everything to do with alero snow tires, what do you have, which is better, etc.
i have a 2003 GL 2.2L and my tire size is 215/60R15 i just purchased these YOKOs for my car, tell me what you think? http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/DHwAAO...KY/s-l1600.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/Ld8AAO...Wj/s-l1600.jpg yes i got 4 of them, $75 a peice, $300 with free shipping |
I have those and they work great. Had them on my alero's and now my Subaru. Yoko makes great all season tires too.
Never used snow tires on the Alero, but considering them for the Volvo so it's not like a rally car in the snow.
Haven't used snow tires since 1978. Real men know how to handle a car in snow.
Oh jeez
Real men........ Real men prepare thire equipment for the season, should a snowstorm occur you are prepared and can arrive at your destination safely

Only reason i have snow tires is for the insurance discount.... saves 5% per year and when i buy used tires that last me 3 winter's i consider that a win hahaha
ok OLDSNUT, i use a SUMMER set and a WINTER set. i dont want to run the SUMMER set in the winter. the summer set i have is Douglass GT PERFORMANCE, meant for summer driving, they are not all seasons.
I drove my Miata in the snow/ice once and it has Summer performance tires on it. The back end would kick out a little bit if you went too fast when turning as it's RWD, but it was nothing that wasn't easily manageable.
You live in an area that gets a lot more snow than me though so I could see why you would want winter tires for the added traction/peace of mind, but you could still drive on the Summer tires depending on the situation. |
